Important message from our President about the future of WAC-DC

Dear Members and Friends,

I am writing to you to inform you that the World Affairs Council- Washington, DC will be closing its doors on December 31, 2018, after 38 years in the community. The WAC-DC team has worked tirelessly in recent months to overcome several significant challenges. Unfortunately, because of the complexities of generating the necessary revenue to sustain operations, we have arrived at the difficult decision that dissolution is the wise and responsible course of action.

Our hope is that the quality programming offered by WAC-DC will continue.  We are currently working with several non-profit organizations in the region that have shown an interest in continuing our efforts.  Our goal is to announce our non-profit partners shortly after the New Year.

We are filled with gratitude that you have been part of this organization’s impactful work and we know you will continue to be a champion in educating generations to come about global matters and international affairs.

Sincerely,

Matthew D. Shank, Ph.D.

Interim President
