Land-locked high up in the Himalayas, Nepal was kept mostly isolated from the world until its entry in to the United Nations in 1955. Famous for its beautiful mountain ranges, temples, and hand crafted goods, Nepal has become a destination for tourists from all around the world. It’s rich culture and heritage is a nexus of ancient Newari traditions with Hindu and Buddhist religions.  Economic development has been slow coming in Nepal given its geographic location, but it has sought agreements with countries for infrastructure and development to overcome these obstacles and bring new prosperity to the country.

Join the World Affairs Council-Washington, DC as His Excellency Dr. Arjun Kumar Karki, Ambassador of Nepal to the United States, opens his Residence to Council guests, and discusses the present changes in the country and its ties to the United States.
